WHAT YOU'LL GET

Attendees will gain hands-on experience in traditional joinery techniques, mastering hand-cut dovetails and through tenons. They’ll leave with a beautifully crafted book stand, improved proficiency with hand tools like chisels, planes, and saws, and a strong foundation in wood selection, marking, and finishing techniques for future projects.

WHAT TO BRINg

PPE will be supplied however students wishing to bring their own should come with a face mask, safety glasses or goggles and earmuffs or earplugs.

Closed shoes are a mandatory requirement for all students.

Those with their own tools relevant to the class should bring them along to get better accustomed at using your own tools but we also supply all tools if you don’t have any.

We have a kitchen onsite with fridge and microwave for those that want to bring their own food, and there are also takeaway options within walking distance.

About Eliza Maunsell

After many years working for all the major theatre and live entertainment companies as a stage manager, production manager, prop buyer and maker, set builder, and theatre technician, Eliza started Eliza Wood Co in 2020 to work on her own designs. She makes sculptures and architectural pieces, fine furniture and lighting, using complex techniques. Eliza also does antique furniture repairs and refinishing. She is influenced by her experiences in the theatre design world, using texture, colour, and lighting to tell a story.
